Shower Guard

Bath Vision offers a shower guard product that will help you to maintain your new shower door and keep it clean.

No matter how hard you try to keep standard shower glass clean, eventually it gets ugly. That's because hard water, soap and even everyday cleaning agents cause a corrosive chemical reaction that roughens the surface of the glass.
This gives spots, residue and scale something to hang on to – making your glass almost impossible to keep clean. Over time, the glass can appear dirty – no matter how often you try to scrub it clean.

Ordinary glass is prone to damage and aging from hard water, soap, humidity and more. But ShowerGuard glass is extraordinary. It's an entirely different kind of glass that's protected during manufacturing with a patented ion beam process. This technology permanently seals the glass surface, for a shower that stays beautiful forever with just a minimal amount of cleaning.

Shower Guard glass stops corrosion before it starts.

• Its surface is permanently sealed during manufacturing with a patented ion beam process.
• Unlike spray-on or wipe-on treatments that eventually wear off, the protection provided by Shower Guard glass is part of the glass itself, so it never needs to be re-applied.
• With just a minimal amount of cleaning, Shower Guard glass will stay beautiful for years to come.
ShowerGuard's patented technology helps keep minerals, scale and soap scum from sticking. A soft cloth or wet sponge and most common household cleaners are all you need for periodic maintenance.
ShowerGuard even stands up to hard water build-up.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, 85% of American homes are supplied with hard water. Water described as "hard" is high in dissolved minerals, especially calcium and magnesium. Over time, these minerals can build up on shower glass, making it appear dirty or cloudy.
ShowerGuard's patented technology resists this. So your glass can stay beautifully clear, no matter what type of water you have.

What’s Your Water Type?
Soft Water
Soft water has a low concentration of calcium and magnesium ions. Areas throughout North America have soft ground water. Hard water is readily converted to soft water via water softeners. In a water softener, calcium and magnesium ions are removed and sodium or potassium are released in exchange.

Hard Water
Hard water has a high concentration of calcium and magnesium and possibly iron. Symptoms of hard water are soap scum and hard water spots. Hard water calcium and magnesium react with soaps and chemicals to form an insoluble, sticky residue that is difficult to remove.

Hard Water with Dissolved Silica
Hard water with dissolved silica is an extreme form of hard water. Silica is common in well water, but usually at low levels. High levels of silica can increase the rate of corrosion of glass and produce water spots that are difficult to clean. One indicator of this problem is spots on glass cleaned in the high heat/high humidity environment of your dishwasher.
